Built around the Big Sioux River, the city has grown from a small historic settlement into a bustling city in the Midwest, while still retaining many of its historic landmarks. History enthusiasts may also recognise the USS South Dakota Battleship Memorial, dedicated to the crew of the famous WWII battleship.
